The Jordanian and Arab artistic scene has lost one of its most prominent figures with the passing of the Jordanian artist Khalid al-Tarifi. Tarifi passed away Thursday at the age of 68.

Born in 1955 in Zarqa, Tarifi was a director and actor. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts from the University of Baghdad in 1979.

Additionally, he studied in Cairo from 1974 to 1977. In 1983, he worked as a theater instructor at the House of Arts and served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Jordan.

He also supervised graduation projects for theater students at the University of Jordan.
