TikTok has introduced changes to adhere to the new strict regulations set by the EU. As part of these updates, European users can now opt-out of interest-based videos.

The EU has mandated internet giants like TikTok to implement stronger measures concerning data privacy, child protection, and combating misinformation and hate speech.

Companies failing to comply by August 28 face financial penalties.

Responding to the call, TikTok now allows European users to disable personalization, giving them control over the videos they see based on their interests.

TikTok also took further steps to meet the EU's Digital Services Act requirements, making it easier for users to report illegal content and blocking ads targeting users aged 13 to 17.

The app announced that it is committed to being more transparent about content moderation decisions, providing users with clearer reasons for video deletions, while also confirming its dedication to regulatory compliance and innovation.
