His Majesty King Abdullah II left Jordan Sunday for Baghdad, to head the Jordanian delegation participating in the fourth Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi tripartite summit.

The summit meeting brings together His Majesty, the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

The Jordanian delegation includes the Prime Minister, Bisher Al Khasawneh, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tawfiq Krishan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, the Director of General Intelligence, and the Jordanian ambassador in Baghdad.

Notably, HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Deputy to His Majesty the King, in the presence of the ministry officials.

The purpose of the summit is to deepen cooperation and strategic integration between the three countries.

The previous summits took place on March 23, 2019 in Cairo, on September 23, 2019 in New York, and on August 25, 2020 in Amman.

All summits discussed ways to develop the tripartite mechanism and move it towards broader horizons, from cooperation and coordination, through the institutionalization of tripartite coordination by establishing an executive secretariat, to be based in rotation annually in one of the three countries.
