Sunday during Roya's Nabd Al-Balad program, an epidemiologist, Montaser Al-Belbisi, noted that if COVID-19 cases continue to surge in Jordan as seen this past week, the Kingdom will enter the Holy Month of Ramadan with a PCR positivity test rate of 40 percent.

Notably, he predicted that the number of coronavirus-related deaths will also increase, indicating that one person dies from the virus every 15 minutes in the Kingdom.

Belbisi said Jordan has not yet reached the peak of the spread of the coronavirus, expecting that the percentage of positive examinations will reach 23 percent this week.

He continued, "If 480 patients continue to be admitted into hospitals on a daily basis, we will not be able to provide the appropriate medical services."

He said that it is difficult to assess the stability of the COVID-19 curve in Jordan, as the rates of positive examinations every week are higher than the previous week.
