Health Ministry announces date of administration for second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced that the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine will be administered within the national vaccination campaign starting Thursday, Feb. 4.

The ministry said that whoever took the first dose will take the second dose of the vaccine Thursday which was intended for them when they took the initial dose, indicating that a text message will be sent to the recipient with details of the second dose.


Health Ministry reduces prices of antibody and antigen tests

Tuesday, Minister of Health, Nathir Obeidat reduced the prices of antibody and antigen tests. The new price of the antibody test is JD 10 per test, while the antigen test is JD 7.

The old prices were JD 15 for the antibody test and JD 10 for the antigen test. The decision to reduce the price of both tests, came based on recommendations from the Minister of Health and the Private Medical Laboratories Committee.


Over 100 million COVID-19 vaccines administered worldwide

Tuesday, according to an AFP census, more than 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide, largely within the last two months.

Around 65 percent of the doses administered worldwide are concentrated in rich countries according to the World Bank, which have only 16 percent of the world's population. These countries include the Israeli Occupation, North America, Europe and the Gulf countries.


Dubai tightens health restrictions to limit spread of COVID-19

Monday, Dubai tightened its health restrictions in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The new precautionary measures will come into effect on Feb. 2 and until Feb. 28.

This came due to a huge increase in the number of those who violate the precautionary measures taken by the emirate.


Woman killed following two-vehicle collision in Amman

Tuesday, a woman died and five others were injured after two cars collided inside Al-Jundi Bridge in Amman.

According to the Central Traffic Department's statement, upon impact the woman projected out of the car to the other side of the road, which led to her being run over by another vehicle.
