Israeli government approves entry of 700 Jordanian workers to Eilat

Seven hundred workers from Jordan were given permission on Sunday, June 21, to work in hotels in the occupied city of Eilat, it was announced on Sunday, June 21, according to Hebrew media.

These workers will be subject to two weeks quarantine on arrival.

Provided the number of the unemployed decreases across the Israeli-occupied territories, it is expected that entry will be granted to a further 800 Jordanian workers.

This decision came in light of the noticeable decrease in COVID-19 cases in Jordan and the annexation plan of the Jordan Valley. 

This decision comes in light of the decrease in the number of coronavirus cases in Jordan and to address tensions that have arisen as a result of Israel’s annexation plan.
