What's going on? Pharmacy employee tests positive for corona, #Sobhi is trending on social media

A pharmacy owner announced last night that one of his employees tested positive for coronavirus, thousands of Jordanians are talking about this and #Sobhi is trending on social media platforms.

Based on what has been circulated on social media platforms since last night, here's a possible explanation of this:

Since the pharmacy owner made an announcement in a voice message that one of the employees at the pharmacy warehouse is infected with coronavirus, thousands of people in Jordan took to social media platforms talking about this and "#Sobhi" was trending. But who is Sobhi?

Sobhi is the infected employee, who was believed by many people to have contracted the virus from his infected father, who died on March 26, 2020.

However, a document circulated on social media platforms, that may be inaccurate, revealed that Sobhi's father died due to a cardiac arrest, pneumonia and kidney failure, not due to coronavirus.

However, it's still possible that the father died after having direct contact with one of his infected relatives. How?

According to a document issued by the Palestinian Authority, that was not documented by the concerned authorities to verify its credibility, a cousin of Sobhi is infected with the virus and had arrived in Jordan from Europe on March 16, 2020.

Two days later, he headed to the Israeli occupation lands. Upon his arrival there, it was found that he was infected with coronavirus, which prompted the Palestinian Authority to publish a list of the names of all people who had close contact with him to be tested as a precaution.

At the same time, social media users have circulated an audio recording by one of Sobhi's relatives, through which he denied that Sobhi's father died of coronavirus, stressing that the cause of death is limited to what was stated in the death certificate of cardiac arrest, kidney failure and pneumonia.

These are all possible explanations that may not be true, awaiting confirmation from one of the official bodies.

A couple of days ago, spokesman for the National Committee for Epidemics Nathir Obaidat affirmed that corona cases were confirmed inside a building in Al-Rashid neighborhood of Amman after the Minister of Health made an official announcement of this during his daily press briefing.

It was later discovered that the infected employee "Sobhi" is a resident of this building.
