The National Epidemiological Committee has started today conducting random COVID-19 tests in areas, where no cases were reported and areas with low numbers of cases.

Spokesman for the Committee Nathir Obaidat said that "the first line of defence against the virus, which includes hospitals, doctors, nurses, and civil defense personnel, will be tested at random by the end of the week."

Also, tests will be conducted on shop owners and sanitation workers to ensure that they are not infected in an effort to boost prevention measures, he added.
