Zarqa Industry and Trade Directorate inspection teams have imposed today fines on eight stores for raising prices in violation of prices set by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply.

Director Imad Bzour said that among the stores were three fruit and vegetable shops that were selling produce at higher prices, vowing that the directorate will not tolerate any price hikes.

He said that the inspection teams were also monitoring stores to ensure that shoppers are committed to precautions against the coronavirus outbreak, keeping a safe distance between them and wearing gloves and face masks, and that disinfectants are available inside shops.

Bzour also said that his department will tomorrow resume the delivery of fodder and bran to farmers through two designated distribution centers in Khaw and Azraq, adding that about 1,437 tons of fodder were delivered in the last three days.
