All shops and institutions authorized to open, except for medical facilities, shall be completely closed for 24 hours as of Thursday evening, April 2, until Saturday morning, April 4, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, said.

During a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Adaileh said that more army units and security forces will be deployed in villages and towns as of Thursday, stressing that the defence law will be applied against the violators.

"As of tomorrow morning, only one person will be allowed to use vehicles authorized to move, except for the emergency cases" the Minister confirmed.

He added that all paper permits will be canceled as of 6 pm on Thursday, to be replaced with electronic ones.

"A special hotline (193) for the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) has been activated around the clock for people to report any infected person, those in contact with the infected or any suspected case, stressing that any reports received are absolutely confidential," Adaileh said.
