The Minister of Labor, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, Nidal Bataineh has stated that, based on the cabinet’s decision to suspend work hours for official ministries and institutions for a period of two weeks, public sector employees shall have a paid official leave for two weeks that is not deducted from the balance of their annual leaves.

In a press statement, Bataineh confirmed that the decision excludes employees who must be at work in the ministries and institutions excluded by a decision made by the Prime Minister upon the recommendation of the concerned minister.

Accordingly, the competent minister or whoever he delegates shall issue instructions to decide who should be present at work before tomorrow, March 18.

Today, the Ministry of Labor will issue decisions to regulate the affairs of workers in the private sector, based on the decision of the Council of Ministers for this day.
