The Administration of Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS) has decided that the ABS campus will be shut down for two weeks as a precautionary measure against coronavirus.

In an official statement, the ABS administration said:

"Following careful consideration of the current course of the Corona-virus (COVID-19) Pandemic, we have decided that the ABS Campus will begin a staggered closure for students and staff starting Sunday 15 March 2020.

We have made this decision in the interest of the health and wellbeing of our school community. Our assessment is that the current course of the COVID-19 Pandemic makes it inevitable that we will need to close our buildings before long, and that a planned closure now will be less disruptive than a sudden shutdown later.

While the ABS Campus will be partially closed, our expectations are for all students (KG-12) to move to online learning and teaching starting Sunday 15 March 2020. Kindly note that full details regarding the plan for online learning will shortly be sent to you by each Head of School respectively.

Grade 10 and Grade 12 students and respective teachers will be expected to come to the ABS Campus for their Mocks for the duration of the exams only. Naturally, during these exams, international social distancing recommendations will be adhered to.

During this period, the school will also operate with skeleton staff to ensure the continuity of operations, while the majority will be asked to work remotely from their homes.

In conclusion, online teaching and learning will continue along, with as much of our operations as can be managed remotely. ABS will remain open only for the very essential exams and business. We will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 Government directives and we will update you as necessary.

We would like to wish you all, our ABS Family, and all the people in our beloved Jordan health and best of wishes.

Thank you for your continuous support."
