The government will roll out in the next few days a campaign, in partnership with Facebook, designed to expand the reach of coronavirus-related updates and instructions published by the Ministry of Health among the platform's audience in Jordan.

Under the partnership, Jordan-based Facebook users will see more of the Ministry of Health's updates on the virus and will be directed to the Ministry's official website when needed, the Ministry has announced.

The content will include safety tips, prevention, status updates and information on health facilities where cases are tested and cared for.

This partnership aims at providing accurate advice and information and curbing the proliferation of rumors and misinformation about the disease.

Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has said that Facebook will work to revise any articles that will broadcast fake news or rumors during the current crisis, and will also block ads that claim that certain products can treat the disease.
