The Minister of Health has confirmed that no new coronavirus cases were reported in the Kingdom.

During a press briefing held today at the Prime Ministry building, Minister Jaber stated that the government will hold press briefings regularly to reveal the latest developments on the virus and the government's readiness to fight against it.

"The Isolation Department at Prince Hamza Hospital will be fully ready to receive patients today," Minister Jaber stated.

Upon directives he issued, five huge thermal scanners will be installed at the border crossings.

For his part, Director-General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Hayel Obaidat said that the government has decided to ban the exportation of face masks to other countries, stressing that Jordan can still export sterilizers after securing local needs.

Obaidat added that the JFDA cadres conduct field visits to control any cases of monopoly and overpricing of masks.

Obaidat stressed that the government and private hospitals in Jordan should be provided with a large stock of medical supplies.

He pointed out that the Food and Drug Administration is working to provide a safe stock of food that would be enough for 4-6 months in Jordan.
