Upon directives issued by Amman's Mayor, Dr. Yousef Shawarbeh, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has taken precautionary and preventive measures to fight against the novel coronavirus.

GAM cadres have rushed to the streets today and provided sanitation workers with face masks and gloves, according to a post on GAM's Facebook official page.

It was agreed that merchants at the Slaughterhouses Department must wear masks before entering the Department. All departments of GAM were provided with hand sanitizers for the safety of the employees.

Members of GAM departments held a series of workshops to raise awareness against the virus and published awareness leaflets approved by the Ministry of Health on GAM's official website and social media accounts.

Earlier last month, GAM formed a special team to deal with any emergency case.
