Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak died on Tuesday at the age of 91.

Mubarak's body will be laid to rest in a funeral after prayer at an East Cairo mosque.

Mubarak's tenure as head of state spanned over three decades until he was ousted by a popular uprising in 2011.

He was convicted of complicity in the killing of protesters during the revolution, but the conviction was overturned and he was freed in March 2017.

Mubarak was in intensive care and his health deteriorated rapidly at dawn today.
