Head of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq revealed that the tripartite committee agreed to raise the minimum wage by JD40 to JD260, as of January 1, 2021.

He pointed out that the decision excludes domestic workers and expatriates working in the loading and unloading sectors.

The tripartite committee's agreement to raise the minimum wage was unanimous after the three parties, namely workers, employers and the Labour Ministry, agreed, he emphasized.

In a press conference he held today, Minister of Labour, Nidal Bataineh announced that the government has approved the decision.

Bataineh explained that the minimum wage for expatriate workers will reach JD230.
