National Center for Human Rights to investigate Fuheis Mental Health Hospital video

The National Center for Human Rights has announced that an investigation was launched into the video that was recently published and showing scenes of violation against patients with mental health issues at the National Center for Mental Health.

The Commissioner-General of the National Center for Human Rights, Musa Braizat, said that the Center will verify the scenes.

He stressed that the Center had received reports of such violations for more than once.

At the same time, he noted that field visits will be carried out to detect any kind of violations.

For his part, the Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Jaber called on the public prosecutor to open an investigation into the video. 

He confirmed that the necessary legal action will be taken against those involved.

However, MP, Ibrahim Al Bdour said that the violations against patients with mental health issues are not acceptable and against all human rights agreements.

He said, "Everyone is shocked by the video. The concerned committee at the National Center for Human Rights will carry out a survey and investigation into the scenes and if they were verified, we will demand to hold accountable all those found involved in the filming."
