Japan’s assistance to Jordan from its supplementary budget of FY2019

The Government of Japan has decided to extend a new assistance package, which amounts to approximately 15.6 million US dollars, from its supplementary budget of FY2019, in order to assist the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan that is facing the regional challenge and receiving a large number of refugees.

Under the new assistance package, the grants will be provided for the activities of international organizations such as UNDP, UNICEF, IOM, UNRWA, WFP and few more organizations to implement the projects that will aim at providing the humanitarian assistance for Syrian refugees, the assistance for communities hosting the refugees and providing assistance to improve the economic situation in Jordan.

As a member of the international community, Japan will continue to provide its firm support to Jordan which is the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East region.
