A total of 380,000 barrels of Iraqi crude oil passed through the Jordan Petroleum Refinery (JPR) in January, at an average of 12,000 barrels a day, Energy Minister Hala Zawati said.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 3, Zawati noted that around 1,473 tankers transported about 50,6 thousand tons of Iraqi crude oil from the Baiji refinery to the JPR last month.

Under a memorandum of understanding signed in February 2019, Jordan purchases Iraq's Kirkuk oil at an average of 10,000 barrels a day at benchmark crude Brent prices, minus transport costs and deviations in standards. This only meets a part of Jordan's annual needs of crude oil.
