The latest weather depression channeled 1.2 million cubic meters (mcm) of water into the Kingdom's main dams, an official source announced.

In a statement, Minister of Water and Irrigation, Ra'ed Abu Al-Saud, said dams, which can hold 336.4 mcm, now hold around 122 mcm, or 36 percent of their total storage capacity.

The country's long-term annual average of rainfall of 8.1 billion cubic meters has been now realized by almost 67 percent or 5.524 mcm since the start of the wet season.

The highest amount of rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was in Karak with 35.8 millimetres (mm) and the lowest in Aqaba 0.6 mm. The other governorates received the following rainfall: Amman 6.9 mm, Balqa 4.6 mm, Madaba 1.8 mm, Zarqa 2.4 mm, Jerash 6.6 mm, Mafraq 1.2 mm, Irbid 5.8, Ajloun 16.4, Tafilah 15.3 mm, and Maan 6.4 mm.
