For the eighth day in a row, cadres of the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) are still searching for the missing man, Hamzeh Al Khatib, who was swept away by flooding in Zarqa River (Sel al-Zarqa) earlier on Thursday, January 9.

The Public Security Directorate's Director, Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh has earlier given instruction to expand the search for the missing man.

He also gave directives to use all available technical and human resources and intensify the search in the river.

The PSD provided additional manpower and machinery, including a gendarmerie special task battalion and a company from the PSD's Desert Brigade Command, to back up the CDD teams that have been scouring the area since the man went missing.

Drones, equipped with cameras linked to a command and control bus, flew over the rugged region and search dogs were used in addition to boats that scanned the waters at King Talal Dam.
