An opinion poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan (the pulse of the Jordanian street 10) showed that 71 % of Jordanians use the Internet on a daily basis, while 83 % of them use social media platforms on a daily basis.

The poll, which the center announced its results on Tuesday morning, December 17, 2019, showed that 47.4% of people said they do not follow news websites, while 38 % said they do not verify the authenticity of news they hear about. 61 citizens receive their information about the events taking place in Jordan from various media outlets, then from family and friends.

The results indicated that 48% resort to TV for news in Jordan, 36% rely on Facebook, and 11% rely on online news sites.

The survey revealed that about a third of Jordanians, with 34%, often follow the Roya TV in order to get local news, while a quarter of them, 5.3%, said they watch Jordan TV, 5.3% watch Al-Mamlaka, 4.9% watch Fact International, 4.6% watch Jordan Now.

The survey showed that about 9% of Jordanians watch Roya TV to get regional news, 26.4% follow Al-Jazeera news channel, 8% watch Al-Arabiya channel, and 7.2% follow Jordan TV.

According to the poll, 14.3% said they don't follow local news, while 29.3% said they don't follow region-related news.

The poll showed that 6.3 % of people follow Roya News website to get news related to Jordan, 20.8% of people follow the Al Wakeel website to Jordan, while 7.1% resort to Facebook, 4.3 % follow Saraya News, and 3.6% follow Khaberni news, 2.2% follow "Nabd" site and 1.7% follow Ammon News. However, 47.4% said they do not follow any news websites.

The results showed that 60% of people verify the authenticity of the news that they hear about, while 38% said that they do not do so.
