The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has warned Jordanians of VPN applications, which many people take advantage of, as VPN networks give access to users and allow them to unblock some applications and games.

According to a statement issued by the TRC, "VPN applications may endanger users' personal data, as they can identify users' locations, identities, personal information and contacts. In addition, users' personal information may be used in illegal ways."

The statement also indicated that VPN applications may lead to a very slow internet connection, in addition to consuming large amounts of mobile data.

VPN applications have spread in the past few months among users in Jordan, especially after some games were banned in Jordan, such as PUBG and the Blue Whale Challenge.

By downloading VPN applications, users can get access and unblock such games.
