CDD: School fire in Ramtha leaves 36 students injured

A fire has broken out inside Musab Bin Omair Secondary School for Boys in the Ramtha area of Irbid this morning, according to a statement issued by the Media Department of the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD).

The fire started on the ground floor and spread to the upper floors of the three-floor school.

Around 36 students have suffered from shortness of breath for inhaling gas emissions. They were all taken to Ramtha Public Hospital and they are all in good health conditions, the statement indicated. 

All students were evacuated. For their part, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire.

Initial reports indicated that electrical contact caused the fire.
