World's longest cable car to be built in Theban

The Municipality of Theban area of Madaba will start building the longest téléphérique in the world that would run 3,700 meters in length, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

Mayor of Thiban municipality Adel Janadbeh said the project will be implemented in cooperation with a private investor from the area at a cost of JD 250,000.

The project will also include constructing a touristic complex that will include chalets, tourist camps and swimming pools for adventure lovers.

As part of the project, a factory producing medical supplies for kidney dialysis patients is to be opened by the end of 2019 at a cost of JD 2 million.

The factory will be built on a plot of land given by the municipality to an investor, where around 130 employment opportunities will be provided for residents of Theban.
