Two people were injured on the dawn of Monday, November 11, 2019, after a fire broke out in a four-storey residential building in the Southern District area of Irbid governorate, according to Roya's correspondent.

The fire has originated and spread from the building's electric meters, according to a statement issued by the Media Department at the Eastern Irbid Civil Defense Directorate (CDD).

The statement explained that the fire has left two people with minor injuries and has caused significant material damage to the building and a vehicle that was parked near the building.

Cadres of the CDD rushed to the site of the incident and managed to put out the fire.

For their part, ambulance teams provided the necessary first aid to the injured and referred them to Princess Basma Hospital, where they were listed in moderate health condition.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a gas leak has caused the fire, yet a committee was formed to determine the causes of the fire.
