The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has announced that it is planning to install surveillance cameras near a number of markets in the Downtown Amman area.

Sa'ad Dweikat Al-Abbadi, director of the Random Selling Control Department told Roya that the cameras will be installed near the Souk Al-Sukar, or sugar market and the Grand Husseini Mosque in order to limit the number of unlicensed street vendors and violating kiosks.

Last week, GAM cadres carried out a campaign on random selling in the Downtown Amman area, as part of its daily campaigns conducted for this purpose.
