A security force from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Southern Amman Police Directorate managed on Sunday, September 1, 2019, to arrest two men wanted on vehicles theft charges, spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said.

The forces have raided the two men's houses and searched them.

One of the wanted men had fired several gunshots at the forces when he saw them near his house and fled immediately.

Police officers had followed him and were able to catch him, where he threatened of committing suicide by opening fire on himself.

With negotiation, the wanted surrendered himself and the firearm that was in his possession to the police.

However, the second wanted man was arrested after police officers found a number of pieces of vehicles and hand tools used to steal vehicles inside his home.

After they were both arrested, investigations were launched.

In another context, police arrested two people in Karak, as one of them was found wanted on 15 charges, while the other was found wanted on one charge.
