Head of the Jordan Teachers Association (JTA), Ahmad Hajaya has died in a road accident on Friday, August 30, 2019, on the desert highway.

Hajaya was elected as Head of the JTA in April 2019.

The Media Department at the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) said the accident, which occurred in Al Hasa area near Tafilah, took the life of Hajaya and injured his son and two others who were in the same car.

The CDD rescue teams evacuated the deceased and administered first aid to the injured and then transferred them to Prince Zaid Military Hospital.

The injured were listed in moderate condition, the media Department added.
