Out of 150 nightclubs in Amman, only 23 of which are licensed, Amman Governor Saad Shihab revealed in press statements on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Shihab added that there are also 20 bars and 7 discos in various areas of Amman.

The results were published after an independent committee has been formed to inspect public facilities in Amman.

Under the licensing of tourist establishments, night clubs must close at 3:00 am, Shihab stated.

According to the licensing instructions, any nightclub that witnesses gun shooting must be closed, Shihab said, explaining that there is competition among owners of night clubs, which recently prompted some owners to open fire at near other nightclubs so that they get closed.
