The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the ongoing Israeli violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif, the most recent of which was carried out on Palestinian worshippers on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

The Ministry's official spokesman, Sufian Qudah, called on Israeli authorities to immediately halt all provocations in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and held Israel full responsibility for the violence and tension there.

He urged the international community to exercise pressure on Israel to stop its aggressive behavior.

Qudah also said that the Foreign Ministry had sent a letter of protest to Israel regarding the continued Israeli violations through diplomatic channels.

For his part Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi tweeted, "We condemn Israel’s violations of sanctity of Al Aqsa, especially on this holy day. Its attempts to change the status quo in occupied #Jerusalem & its holy sites will only lead to more violence, threatening security of all. Int’l community cannot remain silent on these violations."
