The Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places decided on Friday, August 9, 2019, to reopen the Tomb of Aaron (the tomb of Prophet Harun) in Petra, south of Jordan after it has been closed for almost ten days, provided that visitors comply with the regulations.

"The Tomb has been reopened to visitors in accordance with the instructions and conditions set for visiting all shrines in the Kingdom," the Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry called on visitors to abide by the instructions and conditions, pointing to the need to follow the general safety conditions while visitors pass to the Tomb as it is located in a high area.

The Ministry also urged visitors not to enter the Tomb, unless the responsible authorities are informed.
