The US Embassy in Jordan has announced new procedures for people entering the Consular Section in the Embassy's building in Abdoun, Amman.

In a video on its Facebook official page, the Embassy said that as of August 1, 2019, people will not be allowed to enter the Consular Section with any electronic devices with them.

Electronic devices include mobile phones, cameras, smartwatches, and music instruments.

An employee of the Embassy, who appeared in the video, said that people can leave these devices at home, in their cars or with anyone.

The Embassy official said these new measures would help those who will enter the Embassy to enter it more quickly and easily.
