Advisor to the Minister of Awqaf, Murad Nawaf Rifai said that until the noon of Thursday, August 1, 2019, around 5800 pilgrims who traveled to Saudi Arabia by buses arrived in Medina, while 22000 of those who traveled by air arrived in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Medical cadres in Medina dealt with five cases of diseases among pilgrims who arrived yesterday and today.

Among the cases was a 70-year-old woman who was admitted to King Fahad Hospital for medical examination as she was found suffering from memory loss. Upon the medical examination, she was found to be also suffering from meningitis and is likely to be returned to Jordan.

The second case was also a woman who had a broken thigh. Her medical condition was examined after she had received all the necessary medical services.

Her parents were free to choose to either refer her to a hospital or return her to the Kingdom in coordination with the Awqaf Ministry.

The other cases were simple and were not required to be referred to a hospital.

Head of the Jordanian Medical Mission, Hekmat Abu Al Fool, confirmed that there is full coordination with the Saudi medical authorities to deal with cases of chronic diseases, adding that they will be provided with the necessary medical treatment.

He thanks members of the Medical Mission for their efforts in providing services to the Jordanian pilgrims, calling on them to spend more efforts until the pilgrims come back to Jordan.
