Awqaf Minister sees off first group of Jordanian pilgrims

Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Dr. Abdul Nasser Abu Al-Basal bid farewell to the first convoy of Jordanian Hajj pilgrims.

The first convoy of pilgrims was scheduled to leave the Kingdom today and head to the holy land in Saudi Arabia.

During a ceremony held today, Abu Al-Basal said that there are 400 administrative, guidance, medical, media and awareness cadres, all of which were assigned to serve the pilgrims.

Abu Al-Basal stressed that His Majesty King Abdullah II entrusted him to patronize the farewell ceremony and stressed on the need to provide care and services to them.

He added that Al Jizah City of Pilgrims is a station for the farewell of the Jordanian pilgrims, who leave the Kingdom to perform Hajj in Mecca, pointing out that the Awqaf Ministry was keen to activate the cities of pilgrims in both Ghawr Nemrayn and Al Jizah, in addition to Ma'an City of Pilgrims, where the vehicle inspection will be done.
