In a statement issued today, Director of the Operations Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufian Qudah confirmed what was circulating on social media platforms about the death of a Jordanian citizen in Saudi Arabia a month ago.

Social media users said that when the citizen died, no one of his family members cared about him; however, Qudah pointed out that the deceased's brother had been in hospital with him in Saudi Arabia for more than 15 days before he died.

He also confirmed that the deceased's family has been contacted and that the Ministry and the Jordanian consulate in Jeddah are following up on the procedures required by the competent Saudi authorities to either transfer the dead body to Jordan or bury it there, at the request of his family.

Qudah called for the need to carefully consider the feelings of the deceased's relatives and to check on the truth of any similar kind of news before it is circulated on social media.

At the end of the statement, he expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
