Cyber Crimes Unit (CCU) of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), called on Jordanians to protect their accounts on social media platforms from hackers.

In a post on its official Facebook page, CCU detailed the most important steps to be taken to secure the accounts on these platforms:

1. Link the account to an active e-mail and phone number.
2. Choose a strong password consisting of letters, numbers and symbols.
3. Hide personal information such as: birthdate, email and phone number.
4. Activate two-factor authentication on the accounts.
5. Only keep trusted friends on your account.
6. Turn on notifications and alerts on phone and email.
