The Board of Directors of the Zakat Fund, headed by the Fund's Chairman, Minister of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Dr. Abdul Nasser Abu Al-Basal, decided on Monday, July 15, 2019, to approve on a 75-dinar gift (Eidiyah) to all poor families and orphans benefiting from the Fund on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha that will fall in August.

During a meeting held this morning, Abu Al-Basal said that the decision is part of the Fund's policy of helping the poor and letting them celebrate the Eid just like everyone else.

The monetary gifts will be deposited into the poor families and orphans' Jordan Islamic Bank accounts by the end of this month.

In conjunction with the beginning of the new academic year, about 20,000 school bags and accessories, within high-quality standards, will be given to the needy students in cooperation with the directorates of awqaf and zakat committees in the Kingdom, Abu Al-Basal further said.

"Al Eidiyah" is a kind of monetary gift that is usually given to children and is a popular social tradition for Muslims in Eids.
