The Jordanian Embassy in Washington called on Jordanian citizens living in the areas that were affected by the earthquake in South California to take precautions and comply with the warnings issued by the concerned authorities.

The Embassy tweeted on its Twitter official account, "NOTICE: We urge Jordanian citizens in the areas affected by the earthquake in South California to monitor local media for updates. For Emergencies please call (202)-294-9522 or Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Operation Center at +96265735166"

An earthquake measuring 6.4 hit California on Thursday and was felt by residents in a large area, the US Geological Survey said.

Nearly two hours after the quake, US President Donald Trump tweeted, "Been fully briefed on earthquake in Southern California. All seems to be very much under control!"
