A man has opened fire at his brother in Al-Mesdar area of Amman on Monday, July 1, 2019, spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said in a statement.

The statement added that upon investigation, it was found that the man had killed his brother following a family dispute.

The perpetrator had surrendered himself to police and the investigation is still ongoing.

In another statement, the media spokesman said that a man in his sixties has died after being shot with a firearm during a quarrel that occurred between a number of people in Ma'an last night.

The man was referred to a nearby hospital, yet died immediately.

The statement added that 16 people took part in the fight and they were all arrested.

An investigation into the incident was launched.
