The Amman prosecutor agreed on Sunday, May 19, 2019, to release the owner of a Jordanian TV channel and the presenter, who were charged with slander, on bail.

The TV channel had previously asked for a release but was rejected.

The prosecutor had earlier decided to arrest the owner and presenter after the General Director of the Gendarmerie, Major General Hussein Al Hawatmeh filed a lawsuit against them.
