The Grand Criminal Court sentenced on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, a 27-year old man to eight years of temporary hard labor after sexually assaulting a 7-year-old boy, according to article 299 of the Penal Code.

In front of the child's house, the accused met the victim and took him to an abandoned house, where he attacked him, took control over him and sexually assaulted him.

The victim started screaming, calling his brother's name, who was around in the area. The victim's brother heard the screams and immediately recognized his brother's voice.

He saw the defendant leaving the house after the assault and fought with him. He then told the victim's father and filed the complaint.

The court noted in its decision that "the acts committed by the accused are a violation of the child's dignity, and are against article 299 of the Penal Code."
