Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena confirmed on Friday, April 26, 2019, that radical Islamist linked to Sri Lanka blasts, Zahran Hashim, was killed during the series of attacks which targeted hotels and churches in Sri Lanka. 

President Sirisena told reporters that "what the intelligence agencies told me that Zahran Hashim was killed in the attack on the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo."

However, President Sirisena did not explain Hashim's role in the attack, which was one of six attacks that led to the deaths of more than 250 people.
