UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich said on Thursday that there was no military solution to the conflict in Libya after the commander of Libya's eastern forces, Khalifa al-Haftar, ordered his forces to move towards Tripoli.

"I would like to make a strong appeal to stop ... the escalation," Guterich said at the UN compound in Tripoli.
