During a trilateral summit held in Cairo on Sunday, March 24, 2019, His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and the Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi agreed to push forward economic, trade and investment cooperation between the three countries to serve their common interests.

The summit, which began with a tripartite meeting followed by an extended meeting attended by Jordanian, Egyptian and Iraqi senior officials, stressed the importance of taking advantage of the potentials offered by the three countries' geographical and strategic and economic integration, as well as the historical, social and cultural ties between the three countries.

In this context, His Majesty affirmed that the meeting represents an important opportunity to divert the distinguished relations which combine the three countries to fruitful cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields, in addition to coordination among them on various issues.

The summit also affirmed the determination of the three countries to cooperate and coordinate strategically among themselves and with the rest of the Arab brothers to restore stability in the region and to find solutions to the crisis facing a number of Arab countries, especially the Palestinian Cause.

The Summit stressed the need to support the Palestinian people's access to all their legitimate rights, including the establishment of a state on its national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the adopted references, and the aspiration of the forthcoming Arab Summit in Tunisia to restore solidarity and promote joint action within the framework of the League of Arab States.

It was agreed on the importance of meeting periodically to coordinate positions and policies among the three countries in order to achieve the interests of their peoples in the stability and economic prosperity and achieve common goals through cooperation with the brotherly countries and through building balanced international relations.
The summit was attended by the Jordanian Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Advisor to His Majesty the King, Director of His Majesty's Office, Director of General Intelligence, King's Advisor for Economic Affairs, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Jordanian Ambassador to Cairo.

Egyptian President Sisi held an official luncheon in honor of King Abdullah and the Iraqi Prime Minister, in the presence of senior officials from the delegations of the three countries.

A tripartite Egyptian, Jordanian, Iraqi summit was held in Cairo on March 24, 2019, which brought together the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi to discuss means of cooperation, coordination and integration among the three countries.
The leaders valued the historical relations between their countries, stressing the importance of working to enhance the level of coordination between the three countries, and to take advantage of the potential offered by their geographical continuity and the integration of their strategic and economic interests, in addition to historical, social and cultural ties between the three countries in various fields, under the precise circumstances experienced by the Arab nation and the unprecedented challenges faced by Arab national security.
The leaders also reviewed the latest developments in the region, stressing their determination to cooperate and coordinate strategically among themselves and with other brotherly Arab countries to restore stability in the region and to work in order to find solutions to the crises facing a number of Arab countries, most notably the Palestinian Cause, since Palestinians have all their legitimate rights, including the establishment of a state on its national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the adopted references, in addition to the Syrian crisis and crises in Libya, Yemen and elsewhere. Leaders also expressed their aspiration of the forthcoming Arab Summit in Tunisia to restore solidarity and promote joint action within the framework of the League of Arab States.
Leaders also emphasized the importance of combating terrorism in all its forms and confronting all those who support terrorism by financing or arming or providing safe havens or through social media platforms, stressing the importance of completing the comprehensive battle against terrorism, especially in the light of Iraq's victory in the battle against ISIS, the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people in this regard and the end of the spatial control of ISIS in Syria. Leaders also noted to their full support for the Iraqi efforts to complete the reconstruction and return of the displaced and ensure the rights of its citizens violated by terrorist.
During the summit, leaders confirmed on the importance of intensive and coordinated action to strengthen the institutions of the modern national state in the Arab region, as the real guarantee against the dangers of fragmentation, terrorism and sectarian and sectarian divisions that contradict the spirit of citizenship and democratic institutions, protect the independence of Arab countries and prevent interference in their internal affairs.
Leaders discussed a number of ideas to enhance economic integration and cooperation between the three countries, including the promotion and development of joint industrial zones, cooperation in the energy, infrastructure, reconstruction and other development cooperation sectors, as well as increasing trade exchange, promoting mutual investment and developing cultural cooperation.
Leaders agreed on the importance of meeting periodically to coordinate positions and policies among the three countries in order to achieve the interests of their peoples in the stability and economic prosperity and achieve common goals through cooperation with the brotherly countries and through building balanced international relations.
The leaders also decided to set up a working group to follow up the work of this summit, under the auspices of the three leaders, to coordinate economic, developmental, political, security and cultural cooperation, and agreed to resume the meeting at a date and place agreed between them.
