Director General of al-Bashir Hospital, Mahmoud Zreikat said that the Ministry of Health is considering the possibility of establishing a new hospital in Amman to alleviate the huge pressure on the government hospitals in Amman.

Zureikat explained that during the last year, the Hospital received 3.5 million visitors, which is an increase of 40% over the previous year due to the government's decision to include citizens over 60 years of age in the health insurance system.

As for the lack of the number of doctors, Zureikat pointed out that the Ministry is working on employing medical specialists from outside the Ministry, stressing that a specialist working for the Hospital deals with more than 50 patients a day, which is definitely over their capacity.
