The director of the Deir Alla district, Raed Al-Azab, said that official bodies in the district have taken various measures necessary to deal with any emergency due to the controlled draining of King Talal Dam.

He said in a press statement on Wednesday that precautionary measures had been taken in terms of ensuring that the water channels are clear and clean, as well as alerting citizens living near the course of the flow to get away and take caution, in addition to patrols of public security in the areas close to the waterway.

Al-Azab added that coordination with the director of education in the region has been made to ensure the return of the students of Abu Zighan School to their homes early and by buses which are provided by the Directorate, as well as informing principals of nearby schools to ensure students leave before the time of the controlled spillway begins.

Al-Azab called on citizens to take caution and stay away from the water flow in order to preserve their lives.
