The President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Abdelkarim Al-Qudah, met Tuesday with Ashwin Fernandes, the Regional Director for QS Intelligence Unit in Middle East, North Africa & South Asia, to raise the university’s international ranking.

President Al-Qudah said that work is under way to develop and raise the efficiency of the university in all fields and at all levels, reviewing a number of measures taken to develop the educational process.

He pointed out that there are a number of plans and procedures to support and motivate researchers to increase the rate of international dissemination, especially in the most influential databases "Scopus" and "Web of Science."

During the meeting, Fernandes made a number of proposals that would contribute to improving the ranking of the university such as those related to scientific research. He called on researchers at the university to improve the impact of their published research by cooperating with researchers from outside Jordan, which would increase rates by 20%.

As for not counting the classification of research published by the university in the Arabic langauge, Fernandes explained that the classification is in the search for long-term solutions to this dilemma.
