Governor of Madaba Hasan Al Qeyam denied on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the rumors circulated on social media platforms about Russian tourists' attempt to kidnap a child in Madaba.

A car, which was carrying Russian tourists, was driving down a street when a group of school students started throwing stones at it, Qeyam said, pointing out that what happened prompted one of the tourists to get out of the car in order to find out what pushed the students into throwing the stones.

Qeyam also denounced rumors attempting to destabilize the Jordanian tourism sector by publishing and circulating false information.
